SIUE College of Arts and Sciences, often referred to as CAS, is an academic college of the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville located in Edwardsville, Illinois, USA. It is home to 44 degree programs in the arts and humanities, as well as in the social and natural sciences. CAS courses are held in buildings across the SIUE campus. In fall 2009 it was announced that after more than 10 years of requesting money from lawmakers in the state of Illinois to build a new science building, funding was set aside for the project. Nearly $80 million was promised to the University by the Illinois General Assembly as part of the Illinois Jobs Now bill. A groundbreaking for the new building took place in Dec. 2009. The project currently is under construction.

Bachelors and/or masters academic degree programs are available through CAS in a variety of areas, including Anthropology, Art, Art and Design, Art Therapy Counseling, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Criminal Justice Studies, Economics, English, Environmental Sciences, Foreign Language and Literature, Geographical Studies, Geography, History, Liberal Studies, Mass Communications, Mathematical Studies, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Speech Communication, Theater and Dance and more.[2]
